SEPTEMBER 2025 MINUTES
The board of Governors for the H. Smith Richardson Golf Club met on 9/3/2025
Joe Everard called the meeting to order at 7:03
OFFICERS PRESENT… Joe Everard President, Rich Battista Vice President, Mike
Windels Treasurer, Steve Taylor Secretary, Brian Daly past president.
BOARD OF GOVERNORS.. John Brockett, Don Dimartino, Brian Zimereli, Dave
Henry, Chris Flowers
TREASURERS REPORT… Mike Windels… See Report (Available Upon Request)
BUDGET SUB COMMITTEE.. Brian Daly, No report
MEMBERSHIP AND HCP… Chris Flowers.. New members were presented to the
board for approval. Roland Schroeder, Alex Dudley, Scott Chaisson. Motion to
approve, Rich, second Dave.. Approved
TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE… John Brockett.. District Tournament went well
Chris Flowers and Tim Dailey won their respective divisions
GOLF COMMISSION… Don Dimartino, Cart paths should be done next week, the
wall on the bridge at 13 tee will be repaired by the Town
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE … Mike Beccaria.. Checks went out last month
WEBSITE AND TECHNOLOGY…Jeff O’Connell, no report
RULES COMMITTEE… Ryan Morris and Matt Hautau, no report
CUPS AND PLAQUES…Vacant John Brockett will make a plaque list.
OLD BUSINESS… Nominating committee, Bill Zilliox and Mike Grasso to fill Chris’s
seat. Bob Bigonette was awarded the Patriot Award by the Ct PGA
NEW BUSINESS…. Public input, Gregg Mason who is a men’s club member and a
member of the tournament committee was concerned with the date of the
Member Guest which is scheduled for Oct 2 and falls upon a Jewish holiday, his
request was to reschedule the tournament on a different date. It was explained
that this was not possible. Being a member of the tournament committee he was
asked why this wasn’t brought to the committee’s attention when the schedule
was printed in January. After discussion John Brockett notified the board that
“religious holidays” will be taken into consideration when next year’s schedule is
adopted. Brian Zimerelli requested that action be taken for this year’s event and
was denied.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 8:03
