The board of Governors for the H Smith Richardson Golf Club met on 6/4/2025

Joe Everard called the meeting to order at 7:04 pm A quorum was established

MEMBERSHIP AND HANDICAP…Chris Flowers
New Members.. Glenn Kaye, Rich Francia, Michael Chaves,Jordan Ranney, Taylor
Ranney, Richard Smola, Brent Warshaw all were voted on and approved for
membership along with 16 junior members( names available upon request)

 

John Brockett asked if members need to be approved at monthly meetings (yes)

 

There was lengthy discussion on how to implement handicap adjustment for
tournament play (competition) which is recommended by USGA, Chris
recommended a fifty percent adjustment as opposed to the USGA stroke
recommendation. Joe Everard will communicate with USGA for clarification
questioning data and results.

 

A motion was made by Jeff O’Connell .. Review data at end of year, monitor
scores, include weekend play as competition scores, which is limited to
“individual stroke/medal play (passed)

 

JUNIOR GOLF….. Chris Flowers … Range day was moved to 6/4/2025

 

TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE … John Brockett… Low sign up for district qualifier
There was discussion on raffles etc for Member/Member. Ie 50/50 with money
collected going to jr golf program. Also tips for cart attendents

 

GOLF COMMISSION… Don Dimartino.. Paving on schedule, to be completed in
June. The deteriorated stone footbridge on 13 and the wood foot bridge on 7
were brought up as  items for discussion. It was suggested that the contractors on
site for paving, take a look at them for repair. Parks and Rec.indicated they will
discuss with contractors/ town rep (George) and see if it can be added to their
scope of work.

 

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE …Mike Beccarria … No Report

 

CUPS AND PLAQUES… Rich Battista…. No Report

 

WEBSITE AND TECHNOLOGY…Jeff O’Connell Nothing new, need to coordinate
with town IT to set up outdoor monitor for live scoring

 

RULES …. Ryan Morris and Matt Hautau….. No Report

 

OLD BUSINESS… Decision on Peter Grace contribution
