TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE (John Brockett) There was a lengthy discussion
about GG tournament implementation. See below

1. There was lengthy discussion on the new score system incorporating GG for
Weekend Events using Golf Genius We conducted a simulation where we asked members to
register for a weekend event from system generated emails, sign in with provided GGID’s and
enter scores. Everything ran as we hoped and we were even able to substitute a player late into a
group. Given our confidence in the process, we will NOT be putting up scoresheets outside the
locker room this year. Everything will run through Golf Genius. Also, scores entered into Golf
Genius from all tournament play will be automatically posted to GHIN by the Committee.

2. Tee Options for the Men’s Club We will continue offering players the option to play at the 3, 4
or 5 tees during weekend tournaments. You will be able to select your tee box when you first log
into Golf Genius with the GGID provided to your group.

3. Master Schedule, Updated Tournament Guidelines and Golf Genius Instructions These
documents can be found on the portal by clicking HERE. All the changes we are implementing
this year, especially with the Club Championship and the Pintek POY races, are explained in the
Tournament Guidelines, so please have a look. Golf Genius instructions and the Master Schedule
will be posted on the club bulletin board outside the locker room.

4. Outside Tournaments – CHANGE TO SHORELINE TOURNAMENT The Alling Memorial
club has moved the Shoreline to Sunday September 14th. Please mark it in your calendars.
There is no change to the qualifier being conducted at HSR in August. As announced
previously, we are hosting the Districts in mid-August.

5. Preferred Lies and GUR The Committee will recommend use of preferred lies – lift, clean, and
place in closely mown areas - when appropriate and only after the start of the GHIN posting
season. We will not have a standing bunker policy - we will play the ball as it lies in bunkers
unless course conditions dictate a temporary move to rake and replace. The Committee will
communicate changes in preferred lies to members before a tournament starts. In regards to
ground under repair (GUR), we defer to the Groundskeeping staff to define areas with white
lines, with relief taken per USGA and Local rules.

This update is being sent to the 2024 club roster. Our next update will come just before the
season starts and will only be sent to the 2025 roster. If you have plans on renewing your
membership, we highly recommend doing it in the next two weeks to stay connected and receive
weekend tournament registration emails.

Will GG pick the best scores for players or do they decide? If a player submits
multiple scores for a weekend event, GG will choose the best Gross and Net

scores for determining purse and POY points. As an example, if a member plays
the 4 and 5 tee boxes in a weekend event, he can actually shoot a higher Gross
score from the 5 tee but find his Net score is lower than from the 4 tee. GG will
choose his 4 Tee Gross score and his 5 Tee Net score. GG is programmed to
assign purse only once for each player using the highest position. If a player has
the same position in Gross and Net purse, it will only award the Gross payout.
The TC will review the Leaderboard after each event to ensure this protocol (no
double dipping) is being implemented properly and make the appropriate
adjustments as required.

Changing the dividing line for Low Handicap and High Handicap. I looked into
setting up Divisions by Playing Handicap versus HI, including a lengthy chat with
GG Help. It is possible BUT GG requires we lock the tee box. Although our players
mostly use the 4 tee, this is the third season we allow them to use 3,4 or 5 Tees in
weekend events. I believe the membership wants this degree of freedom to
remain in effect. As such the TC will continue using two Divisions defined by HI, up
to 9.9 and 10.0 and above, as it has the past two years. We have not received
any broad-based negative feedback from members during that time. Over 50
players in last year's roster were within one stroke (above and below) of the HI
that defines which division they sit in. The Divisions are refilled every week after
HI are updated for the league roster. We expect a good deal of golfers will be
bouncing above and below the line all season. It is not static. Adjusting the
dividing line will not change this dynamic.

To Recoup or not to Recoup Stripe Fees. Rich made mention of choices the
players have to renew. For our Club, when we ask members to pay renewal fees,
tournament fees etc, we DO NOT give them the choice of paying by check or CC,
it's only CC (Seniors offer Check option if players want to avoid the service fee). If
a choice was given I would do it as Chris suggested, select the option in GG to
gross up the fee to include the service charge but only refund the original entry
fee. Since a choice is not given to pay by means other than CC, I still recommend
that we bake the service fee into the amount charged to the player's CC and if
they withdraw and need a refund they get the original amount charged to their
card, as we did with Matt Muro.
